Job Purpose
The YP – Procurement will assist the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management while ensuring adherence to procurement policies and best practices. This role offers hands-on experience in procurement operations, supplier negotiations, and contract management, fostering expertise in strategic sourcing and supply chain optimization. It also provides opportunities for learning, mentorship, and on-the-job training, supporting career growth in property and facilities management. |
Responsibilities and accountabilities |
1. Procurement
i. Assist in sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating terms. ii. Collaborate with DRIVE Country Relationship Managers on the procurement of the seasonal IBLI training packages. iii. Process purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely fulfilment. iv. Maintain vendor records, conduct annual vendor performance evaluations. v. Support inventory management and procurement contract administration. vi. Collaborate with user departments to track contract performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
2. Financial & Administrative Support i. Process invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately. ii. Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and variance analysis. iii. Prepare monthly procurement reports and support audit processes.
3. Compliance & Improvement i. Ensure adherence to procurement/finance regulations and internal policies. ii. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiency. |
Minimum requirements |
i. Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Certifications: Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, KISM) is an added advantage.
ii. Prior internship or work experience in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics is required, with experience in donor-funded projects or government-related training programs being an added advantage. |
