Kaimu Abdi Mkeyenge

Kaimu Abdi Mkeyenge currently serves as the Managing Director of NIC Insurance, where he leads strategic transformation, product innovation, and corporate governance to strengthen the company’s market position. Previously, he was the Director General of the Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC), where he spearheaded reforms in shipping logistics, advanced compliance with international maritime codes and conventions, and enhanced port efficiency and government revenue.

His earlier tenure at the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) as Senior Research Officer and Price Analyst built his expertise in tax policy analysis, customs valuation, revenue forecasting, and evidence-based fiscal reforms, supporting national revenue strategies. Kaimu’s career is underpinned by strong leadership, negotiation skills, and a track record in institutional transformation across both public and private sectors.

He holds an MSc in Economics (Open University of Tanzania), an MBA in General Management (De Montfort University, UK), a Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation, and a BBA in Marketing, complemented by specialized certifications in Insurance and Reinsurance, International Maritime Codes and Conventions, Maritime Search and Rescue Studies, Investments and Securities, and Behavioural Economics and the Modern Economy.
