ZEPRE COHORT II Startup Announcement
ZEPRE PTA Reinsurance has announced the 2nd cohort of its insurtech innovation Africa program. This year’s cohort features 19 innovative startups from Kenya, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, and South Africa, selected from nearly 119 applications, highlighting the remarkable talent and creativity in the African insurtech ecosystem.
These entrepreneurs are developing solutions to boost food security, expand access to healthcare, bridge insurance gaps, and transform financial services in their regions.
ZEP-RE Insurtech Programme is a journey of mentorship, workshops with industry experts, peer learning, and networking. All are designed to empower these founders to scale their impact and innovations!

Meet the ZEPRE Cohort II startups:
PayU Technologies (Nigeria): Pay-U helps vehicle owners who cannot afford bulky upfront annual premium on motor insurance to purchase comprehensive coverage per minute thereby purchasing comprehensive coverage while commuting,Uber for comprehensive motor insurance
Awabah (Nigeria): Awabah offers a monthly subscription service for small business owners and Gig workers, providing access to essential financial services such as health insurance, micro pension, life insurance, and accident coverage at an affordable cost of $3
EnvoyX (Ivory Coast): EnvoyX payment platform allow healthcare providers to get paid in 48 hours for their insurance claims.
Ndai (Kenya): Ndai offers a comprehensive transportation solution through its drive-to-own model, which allows taxi drivers to acquire vehicles affordably and operate their own businesses.
Lifeline (Rwanda): LifeLine is Africa’s first medication software that helps African patients access, afford, and manage life-saving medications at nearly zero cost through in-house/third-party insurance integration and the first-of-its-kind outpatient medication tracking

SOSO CARE (Nigeria): SOSO CARE is a micro mobile health insurtech which aims to use technology and innovative ways to enable millions of people to finance their insurance premium using cash or recyclables as premium across over 2000 hospitals.
Imali.Click (Kenya): An easy to deploy platform for Progressive African Insurance Companies and Online Travel and Hospitality Commerce seeking to offer seamless travel protection to their customers.
eSus Africa (South Africa): The eSusFarm Blockchain Weather Index Insurance and AI product is an innovative solution designed to protect smallholder farmers from climate-related risks while enhancing their farming practices through advanced technology.
Gamp (Nigeria): gamp is an insurtech for consumer electronics, offering device protection, financing, and repair/refurbishment in Africa. We work with partners to deliver sustainable care solutions for essential devices.
Gigmile (Nigeria): Gigmile is a Mobility FinTech platform in Africa that provides Vehicle subscriptions and other financial services (Insurance, Micro-Credits) to gig workers in Africa. Through strategic alliances with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and financial
Maisha Poa (Kenya): MaishaPoa, is a tech-driven, comprehensive yet affordable health financing solution that aims to enable access to quality healthcare for low-income earners and their families. Coverage includes in&out patient treatment for as low as Ksh. 1000 a month.
Jahazi (Kenya): We utilize payroll data and provide employees access to wages they have already earned. At the end of the month, we collect the advanced portion of the salary from the employer.
Listen health (Rwanda): We aim to improve health behavior through providing revolutionary health screening and incentive-based health and wellness programs with a focus on physical, mental and nutritional health.
Digitech (Ivory Coast): Digitech offers an AI-powered, cloud-based reinsurance platform that automates policy processing, including premium subscription, claims handling, billing, and regulatory compliance. This solution enhances transaction tracking, reduces costs.
Octamile (Nigeria): All-in-One Insurance Management Solution that enables the insurance ecosystem to digitise the insurance value-chain for consumers through embedded insurance distribution, end-to-end claims automation and risk assessment for insurance underwriting, claims and financing.
Vetsark (Nigeria): Provides innovative feeder booster technology that performs specialized credit risk assessment and offers a lifeline to struggling farmers by providing all-year access to critical animal feeds on credit.
Exuus (Rwanda): We are applying AI and machine learning to develop an alternative credit scoring engine, enabling us and willing financial institutions to extend credit and other financial services, including micro-insurance, to unbanked smallholder farmers.
These startups will participate in a structured program designed to support their growth with our partner in Kigali Westerwell. They will receive direct access to the expertise of ZEPRE mentors and seasoned entrepreneurs who have navigated the startup path. They will engage in technical workshops to refine their products, hone their business strategies, and strengthen their leadership skills. The program will also prepare them to secure follow-on funding from the ZEPRE insurance fund. The top ten startups will battle in Kigali Rwanda on DEMO Day to secure funding from our insurance fund and our partners who will be present during the demo day.
The participation of these startups in the accelerator program marks a significant step in their journey toward scaling their solutions and increasing their impact.
