Dr. Rachael Gitonga

Chief Finance Officer

Dr. Rachael is currently the Chief Finance Officer at ZEP-Re (PTA Reinsurance Company Limited). She is a seasoned finance professional with over 20 years’ experience spanning both Consultancy Services (PwC – PricewaterhouseCoopers Kenya and South Africa) and the Insurance Industry.  She served in a similar role for 4 years at East Africa Reinsurance Company, a privately owned reinsurance company until November 2019.  Her experience is in financial management, strategy, audit and risk management.

She was a recipient of the Kenya Top 40 under 40 Women Award in 2017, Acre Africa Board member and she is an avid marathoner, using her fervent passion for running to inspire and make impact through charity initiatives she is involved in.

Rachael holds a Doctorate in Business Administration – Finance Option from USIU, Master of Science (Finance) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Nairobi and she is a Certified Public Accountant – Kenya.
